East Parking Deck
Memorial Mission Hospital Asheville, North Carolina
Sutton-Kennerly & Associates was the prime designer for this five-level, cast-in-place,
post-tensioned concrete structure with capacity for 600 vehicles. The
deck has a curved shape following the profile of a large embankment. A
45 foot-high permanent tieback wall was constructed on the west
side of the deck to retain the earth embankment. |

Morehead Medical
Plaza Parking Deck

Charlotte, North Carolina
In response to a growing need for parking spaces at the main hospital facility, and to accommodate the parking requirements
for two new medical office buildings being constructed on their campus, SKA was
commissioned to provide structural
design and construction administration services for the design and
construction of a new, 2,770 space parking deck. This pre-cast structure
was designed for future vertical expansion of two levels, bringing the
parking capacity to 3,600 spaces. |

Moses Cone Health System Staff Parking
Deck
Greensboro, North Carolina
SKA was
the prime designer for this 1,100 space, post-tensioned parking deck on
the campus of Moses Cone Hospital. The design for this new facility
included plans for a 500-space expansion and new, above-grade, elevated
pedestrian walkway connecting the parking structure
to the west "canopied" entrance to the hospital. The new Staff Parking
Deck opened for occupancy in May of 2004. SKA provided structural
engineering, mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineering, and
construction administration services to MCHS on this project. |

Outpatient Rehabilitation Center Parking
Deck
SKA was responsible for the structural
design of this new 204,000 square foot parking deck with approximately 524
parking spaces. The deck is a
one-level, 4-bay post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete structure. |

Oakland Avenue Parking Deck
The University of North Carolina at
Greensboro
SKA
was the prime designer for a new 1,000-space, post-tensioned parking deck. Engineering services provided
to UNC-G included civil, structural, mechanical/electrical/plumbing
engineering, and project management services. This new facility
opened for use in August of 2003.
SKA is currently designing a 500-space expansion to the Oakland Avenue
Deck. Construction of the expansion is scheduled for 2006-2007 |

McIver Street Parking Deck
The University of North Carolina at
Greensboro
SKA was responsible for civil,
structural and electrical design and construction administration for this new
800-car parking deck.
The deck is a 216,000 square foot,
five-level, two-bay pre-cast-prestressed concrete structure.
Electrical engineering services included the design of lighting, power,
emergency systems, telecommunications, and fire alarm systems. |

Craige Parking Deck
The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, North Carolina
SKA was responsible for the structural
engineering design of this five-level, cast-in-place, post-tensioned
concrete parking deck for approximately 1,500 cars. The deck has access
at the upper levels from adjacent streets as well as access at the ground
level. |

Church Street Parking Deck
City of Greensboro Greensboro, North Carolina
SKA was the prime designer for this new, 146,000
square foot parking deck with 430 parking spaces. The structure has five-levels,
and is constructed of precast, prestressed concrete with precast
columns, precast double-tee sections, precast-prestressed spandrels, and
precast light-wall panels. This project won the 1991 Award for
Excellence in Parking Design and Program Innovation sponsored by The
Institutional and Municipal Parking Congress. |

Greensboro, NC
Located adjacent to a large shopping center, this parking deck has six
levels: the lower three levels
are used for parking and the upper three levels are used for
retail/office space. SKA was responsible for the structural design
of this cast-in-place, post-tensioned facility.

Street Parking Deck Integon Insurance Corporation
Winston-Salem, North Carolina
SKA provided structural engineering and construction administration
services for this new 236,000 square foot parking deck with approximately
600 parking spaces. The deck is a five-level, cast-in-place,
post-tensioned concrete structure. The deck has retail/office space
constructed into one side below two levels of the deck. |
