Arden Presbyterian Church
Arden, North Carolina
Because of active leaks and water intrusion problems over the past several years, SKA was commissioned by the Arden Presbyterian Church to perform a condition survey and assessment of the building envelope of the new sanctuary to identify deficiencies, potential design flaws, distress or leak sources in roofing, masonry walls, windows, or where possible, in below-grade waterproofing, in order to establish remedial measures.  Following completion of this condition assessment, Sutton-Kennerly is preparing contract documents for the design of corrective measures for the deficiencies identified.

Western Carolina Veterans State Cemetery Chapel/Administration Building
Black Mountain, North Carolina

Because of extensive water leakage through the roof, windows and walls of the Chapel/Administration building at the Western Carolina Veterans State Cemetery, the State Construction Office engaged SKA to conduct a condition assessment and evaluation of the exterior stone masonry walls, windows and roof system of this facility.  After completion of the investigation and evaluation, SKA supervised the complete renovation of the building, including removal and replacement of the steep slope asphalt shingle roof system, the stone veneer for the exterior walls, custom field-fabricated windows and all related flashing systems.
