Sutton-Kennerly & Associates has been on the leading edge of sustainable design practices in the building industry. Our firm incorporates “Green Building” practices in all of the design services offered.

The LEED rating system published by the U.S. Green Building Council is the nationally accepted certification process for sustainable design, construction, and performance of buildings. SKA has been on the forefront of the LEED design since the introduction of Version 2.0 of the Rating System. Our firm provided structural and PME&FP design services and LEED credit documentation for the first LEED certified dormitory project in the United States. That project was also the second to be certified in the state of North Carolina.

SKA has provided design services and LEED documentation for three certified projects. There are currently two projects under review for certification and numerous projects in various stages of design and construction that will be submitted for certification.
